The future prosperity of humankind amidst ever increasing population, pollution, and diminishing resources, rests in our ability to travel beyond our Earth, explore the universe, and develop new resources. With our current level of scientific understanding, we are unfortunately trapped, as we lack even the ability to reach the next closest star in a human lifetime. Humankind was meant to explore. We need futuristic technologies such as warp drive. The key to warping spacetime is to first, better understand unification of gravity with other fundamental forces in physics. Understanding how fundamental forces of nature relate to the warping of spacetime may help to unlock futuristic technologies and is perhaps the greatest scientific quest of our time.
